Health & Social Care Moray (HSCM) is backing NHS 24’s latest public health campaign to help people across Moray stay well this summer.

The national initiative encourages everyone to make use of NHS Inform as the trusted go-to online source for managing summer health issues like avoiding sunburn, managing insect bites, dealing with hay fever, and more.

With an anticipated increased demand for advice on common seasonal conditions over the summer months, HSCM is encouraging residents to check NHS Inform first before turning to urgent services.

Judith Proctor, HSCM’s Chief Officer, said: “We’re pleased to support this campaign and encourage people in Moray to make full use of the excellent self-help resources on NHS inform. It’s a quick, reliable way to get advice on minor health concerns.”

Dr Ron Cook, NHS 24’s Medical Director,  said: “Whether you’re dealing with hay fever during family picnics, a nasty bee sting after a day in the garden, or forgetting prescribed medications on a short trip, NHS inform has the advice you need to help take care of yourself and your loved ones.”

In addition to a handy summer advice page, NHS Inform also offers helpful symptom checkers which provide quick guidance for common conditions and illnesses. These resources can help people safely self-manage their symptoms as well as providing information on when and where to go for further help.

Dr Cook adds: “The main advantage of NHS inform is that it is available 24 hours a day, whenever you need it. It provides NHS quality-assured advice that’s regularly reviewed by healthcare experts, ensuring you’re getting trusted information from the people who know best.”
