Health & Social Care Moray (HSCM) has achieved another major milestone in its digital transformation journey, securing the GOLD Level Two Digital Telecare Implementation Award for its Moray Lifeline service.ย

The award, made by Digital Telecare for Scottish Local Government, recognises significant progress in the transition fromย analogue to digitalย telecare systems – a vital step ahead of the UK-wide digital phone switchover in January 2027

Moray Lifeline currently supports over 1,400 people, helping them live more independently and safely at home by providing a simple way to call for help 24 hours a day.

They โ€“ and their families โ€“ are reminded of the importance of carrying out regular test calls to ensure their telecare equipment is working correctly so that any issues can be resolved as quickly as possible.

To achieve the Gold Level Two Award, telecare providers must have successfully rolled out a live digital telecare service to at least 50% of its customers, and demonstrate ย six weeks of safe, reliable digital operation with no serious issues or call failures.

HSCM has so far transitioned 56% of Moray Lifeline customers onto digital devices. This success builds on the earlier migration to the new digital alarm receiving centre (ARC) platform which is shared with Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City health and social care partnerships.

Judith Proctor, Chief Officer of HSCM, said: โ€œAchieving this latest award is testament to the continued dedication and hard work of our joint equipment store and project teams. Their commitment to thorough planning, testing, and implementation has been vital to the success and reliability of our digital telecare service.

โ€œThis milestone further strengthens the resilience and responsiveness of telecare in Moray, ensuring residents benefit from safer, more reliable technology-enabled care.โ€

The next phase of HSCMโ€™s digital telecare programme will focus on exploring new, innovative technologies. Working alongside the Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre (DHI), the team will test and evaluate modern solutions offering greater functionality and more tailored support to meet peopleโ€™s needs in different ways.
