Moray Health and Social Care Partnership brings together staff employed by Moray Council and NHS Grampian to plan, manage and deliver a wide range of health and social care services for people in Moray.
We work in partnership to support people to live well, stay independent for longer, and get the right help at the right time.
Our focus is on improving wellbeing, reducing inequalities and working alongside people, families, carers, communities and partners to achieve better outcomes for Moray.
Why the Partnership exists
Health and social care services in Scotland were brought together through national legislation to help services work more closely together and improve people’s experience of care and support.
In Moray, this means Moray Council and NHS Grampian working together to provide more joined-up support that is centred around the needs, strengths and goals of local people and communities.
What we do
Services which are the delegated to the Partnership include:
- Social work and social care (children’s services, families services and adult services including, mental health services, learning disability services, physical and sensory disability services)
• Primary care services including GPs and community nursing
• Allied health professions including occupational therapy and physiotherapy
• Community nursing
- Community hospitals
• Health improvement
• Community dental, ophthalmic and pharmaceutical services
• Aspects of acute services (hospitals) relating to unscheduled care
• Support for unpaid carers.
• Health visiting
• School nursingGrampian-wide services hosted by Moray on behalf of all three health and social care partnerships are:
• Primary care contractors
• The GMED out of hours primary care service.

Moray Health and Social Care Partnership is overseen by the Moray Integration Joint Board (MIJB).
MIJB is responsible for the strategic planning of children’s, families and adult community health and social care services in Moray and for making decisions about how resources are used to meet local needs.
The Moray Integration Joint Board has eight voting members appointed by the council and NHS Board. It also includes representation from health and social care professionals, unpaid carers, people accessing services, and the third sector.
Accountability and leadership
The partnership is jointly accountable to Moray Council and NHS Grampian.
Leadership is provided through the Chief Officer, who reports to the both Chief Executives. They are supported by the Senior Management Team and Operational Management Team.
Planning and funding
Moray Health and Social Care Partnership receives funding from Moray Council and NHS Grampian.
This funding supports the planning and delivery of services that respond to the needs of people and communities in Moray.
We work to make the best use of available resources, with a focus on:

- community-based care
- reducing pressure on acute services
- improving long-term outcomes
