Moray Integration Joint Board (MIJB) has welcomed three new members following an open recruitment process designed to strengthen the voices of unpaid carers and the third sector in local health and social care decision-making.
Aimee McIntosh, Miriam Connor and Christine Stevens have each been appointed as stakeholder members for a three-year term. Aimee joins the Board as the Third Sector representative, while Miriam and Christine will both contribute their lived experience as unpaid carers.
To support broader carer representation, the Board agreed at its meeting on 27 November 2025 to increase the number of non-voting stakeholder members from five to six, enabling the inclusion of two unpaid carer stakeholder positions.
Dennis Robertson, Chair of the Board, said: โWeโre delighted to welcome Aimee, Miriam and Christine onto the Board. Each of them brings valuable insight, expertise and lived experience that will strengthen our work and help us better understand the needs of the people we serve.โ
Aimee works as an operations manager with a third sector organisation supporting adults with learning disabilities, while Christine is a former local government employee, having worked in committee services with Highland Council, and Miriam is a retired occupational therapist. Both have substantial lived experience caring for family members.
The Board also expressed its gratitude to Ivan Augustus, who has stepped down after serving as the unpaid carer representative since the establishment of MIJB in 2016.
Dennis added: โIvan has been an exceptional advocate for unpaid carers in Moray. His wisdom, knowledge and compassion are commendable, and his determination has helped shape how we listen to and involve carers in decisions that affect their lives. We are deeply grateful for his years of service and the difference he has made.โ
Ivan said: โIt has been a privilege to help ensure the voices of Morayโs unpaid carers, who are so vital to the health and social care system, are heard. Itโs been a pleasure to work with my fellow Board members who are committed to improving services in Moray, and Iโm grateful for the opportunity to have played a part in that work.โ
MIJB has governance responsibility for the budget, strategic planning and effective delivery of integrated health and social care services for children and adults through the operational partnership of Health & Social Care Moray.
The Board has eight voting members, drawn from the two funding partners โ four nominated by Moray Council and four by NHS Grampian. The position of Chair rotates every 18 months between the two organisations.
They are supported by non-voting members, including the Chief Officer, Chief Finance Officer, Chief Social Work Officer and Heads of Service, alongside stakeholder representatives for staff, people supported by services, unpaid carers and third sector organisations.
